Lloyd Richard

Keyboardist, Vocalist

A seasoned vocalist and keyboardist, Lloyd Richard brings decades of experience, soul, and passion to the Pink Trailer Band. Born in Lafayette, LA, Lloyd’s musical journey started early, influenced by a family of musicians on his mother’s side. His first taste of performing came at just 14 years old, when he was invited to be an opening act for Jackie Wilson—an opportunity he ultimately declined, despite being recognized by Jackie’s own pianist.

After high school, Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy and later worked as a mechanic, but music always remained a part of his life. He sang in churches and with family musicians, eventually taking up the piano later in life—a decision that led him to a rewarding career performing alongside legendary artists.

Lloyd has been blessed to share the stage with major acts including Little Buck Senegal, Buckwheat Zydeco (Sr. & Jr.), and Allen Touchet, and even had the honor of opening for Tony Bennett. He has performed at Jazz Fest for many years, earning a place in Louisiana’s vibrant music scene.

Now, as the vocalist and keyboardist for Pink Trailer Band, Lloyd continues to inspire audiences with his rich voice, masterful playing, and deep connection to the music. He credits music—and the people he’s met along the way—with giving him a new perspective on life, people, and self-growth.

At 72 years young, Lloyd is a testament to the timeless power of music and the joy of sharing it with the world. 🎢πŸ”₯
